SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
LOURDES SICK AND HELPERS PILGRIMAGE FUND SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND – 14th / 15th FEBRUARY. Pope Leo XIV has chosen the theme for the 34th World Day of the Sick: The compassion of the Samaritan: loving by bearing another’s pain”. The theme of the World Day of the Sick, focusing on the Gospel figure of the Samaritan who shows love by caring for the suffering man who fell into the hands of thieves, highlights this aspect of love of neighbour.
WEDNESDAY 18th FEBRUARY IS ASH WEDNESDAY, the day we begin a season of repentance and reflection as we prepare for the great feast that is Easter. Masses with the distribution of ashes will be at 9:30am and 7:30pm. ASH WEDNESDAY IS A DAY OF FAST AND ABSTINENCE.
PLEASE NOTE: MASS ON SATURDAY 21st FEBRUARY WILL BE CELEBRATED AT 9am and the church will be closed after and reopen after 4pm.
WALK WITH ME, A LENTEN JOURNEY FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS, is available in the Repository for £1 each. This is a great companion to have as we pray during the Lenten Season.

OBLATES OF THE ASSUMPTION. The funeral Mass for Sr. Maria Goretti O’Brien, Oblate of the Assumption, who died on 2nd February 2026, will take place on Friday 6th March at 12:15pm in Assumption Priory, Victoria Park Square, Bethnal Green, E2 9PB. Burial will be at St.Patricks Cemetery, Leyton at 2pm. Refreshments afterwards at The Convent, 20 Higham Station Ave. E4 9AZ. No flowers please.
“AWAKE LONDON” A Catholic Bible convention and Healing ministry on Saturday 21st February 2026 from 12.45 pm to 4.45 pm led by Rev.Fr.Gerry Ezekwere CMF and Anointing Fire Catholic Ministry UK at Catholic Parish of Christ The King, 455 Chingford Road London,E4 8SP. Convention includes: Praise and Worship, Holy Mass, confession, Healing service and Eucharistic Adoration, spiritual sharing, sessions for children (www.afcmuk.org). Free car parking available.
NATIONAL MARRIAGE WEEK: Please pray for all those living out the vocation to marriage and couples preparing to marry. Support is available for those who need it, and your parish priest can point you in the right direction. If you are celebrating a significant anniversary this year, please let your parish know so that you can be invited to the Mass of Thanksgiving in the Cathedral on Saturday 11th July. CHRISTIAN KITCHEN is a charity run by volunteers from local churches, including a very loyal and committed team from St Patrick’s. Each night of the year we prepare a free, hot and nutritious meal for local street homeless people. We serve 35-40 people every night in Mission Grove car park. MARRIAGE IN OUR CHURCH. Couples thinking of getting married are asked to register in a good time. Make an appointment to see Fr. Marek or Fr Freddy and he will help you from there. Couples planning to get marry in another parish or even outside the country should realise that the process properly begins here.

BAPTISM. Application forms for infant Baptism (0-7 years) are available in the porch. Please fill it in and present it to the Parish Secretary during office hours and make an appointment to see Fr Marek or Fr Freddy. It is unwise to organise a reception until the date of the baptism has been approved. It’s a Diocesan requirement that you are registered (envelope system) in this parish for at least six months and to attend church regularly. Date of baptism take place on Second Saturday of the month at 11:30am.
SVP MEMBERS IN OUR PARISH are in a partnership with an online platform called Acts 435, who closely cooperates with St Vincent De Paul. People who are willing to support the cause are invited to contribute via an Acts 435 website. A short guide on how to donate is displayed on the notice board.
